Tempatron can now offer PVC, Polypropylene homopolymer and copolymer, Polyethylene, PET, PVDF and E-CTFE fabrication materials in a range of standard forms:

BAR :     From 6.0mm up to 600mm diameter

  MATERIAL PROPERTIES
  PVC - Poly Vinyl Chloride : A rigid, flame retardant material with good chemical resistance, low thermal expansion and excellent electrical insulation properties. It can be cut and joined by welding or gluing and is also suitable for hot forming and vacuum deep drawing, PVC is available in extruded sheets, pressed sheets, bar, tube and other profiles. Special types of PVC are available with increased impact strength and antistatic properties,

PP - C - Polypropylene Copolymer : High impact strength with good chemical resistance, including many solvents. Low water absorption and good electrical insulation properties. It will withstand repeated steam cleaning making it ideal in food industry applications. It has a lower stiffness than PP homopolymer. PP copolymer is available in extruded sheets with a smooth or embossed surface which gives increased UV stability for outdoor applications.

PP - H - Polypropylene Homopolymer : Has higher tensile strength and operating temperature than PP copolymer but a lower impact strength. PP homopolymer is available in extruded and pressed sheets, bar, tube and other profiles. Special grades are available for food industry usage and with increased flame retardance. (Polypropylene in not self extinguishing)

PE - Polyethylene : Has high mechanical strength, is tough and wear resistant with good sliding properties. It has excellent chemical resistance, including to acids, and good electrical insulation properties. PE is available in extruded and pressed sheets and bar form. PE is available in grades that are UV stabilised for outdoor use; physiologically inert for food industry applications; and with increased impact strength.

PETG - Polyethylene Terephthalate : High transparency with good impact strength.  PETG is suitable for vacuum and thermoforming and is available in extruded and pressed sheets

PVDF - Polyvinylidene Fluoride : Combines good mechanical strength, wear resistance, thermal and electrical properties with excellent chemical resistance. It is physiologically inert and has good resistance to radiation so is suitable for food contact. It will maintain its strength at low temperatures but also has a high continuous operating temperature. PVDF is available in extruded sheet, pressed sheet and bar form

E-CTFE - Ethylene chlorotrifluorethylene : Has a high resistance to abrasion and an excellent chemical resistance. It has a very smooth surface with a low coefficient of friction, is an excellent electrical insulator and is non-fire propogating. ECTFE is available in extruded sheet form.
